How early should I arrive at the airport for my flight?

Due to new screening procedures, we recommend that passengers arrive at Grand Junction Regional Airport at least two (2) hours prior to their scheduled departure time. In most cases, the airline ticket counters will close 45 min prior to the scheduled departure time.

Can I drop off and pick up people in front of the terminal's main entrance?

Yes.  Drivers are reminded that Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations prohibit unattended and/or unauthorized vehicles in front of the terminal. NO EXCEPTIONS. All unattended and/or unauthorized vehicles will be ticketed or towed at the owner's expense. The Grand Junction Regional Airport Authority will not be responsible for damage or loss to any towed vehicle.

If I am traveling with an electronic ticket, do I need a copy of my electronic receipt to check in?

An electronic receipt is not required. Proper documentation for check-in remains the same as prior to the increase in security measures. These documents include government issued photo identification such as a state issued driver's license, a state issued identification card, a government issued military identification or a government issued passport.

How much carry-on luggage may I take on the plane?

Airlines allow passengers to bring one carry-on bag and one personal item, such as a briefcase or purse. This applies to all airlines. You should contact your airline to find out carry-on luggage size requirements.

May I bring my laptop as a piece of carry-on luggage?

Yes, but travelers need to be prepared to remove laptops and cell phones and other electronic devices from their cases so they can be X-rayed.

What type of document is needed to go through the security checkpoint?

When passengers arrive at Grand Junction Regional Airport, they should go directly to their ticket counter to get a boarding pass. This includes e-ticket holders. Only those with boarding passes will be allowed through the security checkpoint.

How quickly do I need to get to the gate?

Passengers must be at their gate at least 30 minutes prior to departure. Door closes 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure.

Can I carry my pocketknife on board?
