The passenger's airline can issue a pass for someone to escort an unaccompanied minor child, an elderly person or someone with accessibility needs through the security screening checkpoint and to the gate. A pass can also be issued to meet passengers that need special assistance at the gate.

Please be aware that you are still required to show valid government issued photo identification. Allow plenty of time to complete this process with the airline at their ticket counter. It will be helpful if you alert the airline to this request when making reservations. Typically, the airline will only issue one pass. Therefore, you should not bring other children with you.

Yes. The airport's terminal drive, Walker Field Drive, is the drive directly in front of the terminal's main entrance. Drivers are reminded that Federal regulations prohibit unattended and/or unauthorized vehicles in the terminal area. NO EXCEPTIONS CAN BE MADE. All unattended and/or unauthorized vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense. The Grand Junction Regional Airport Authority will not be responsible for damage or loss to any towed vehicle. GJT also offers free parking for up to 2 hours and encourages customers to utilize the parking lot for drop off and pick-up if you are waiting for an arriving passenger.

Identification FAQs

Passengers over 18 years old will need to show current photo identification issued by federal or state government that contains your name, date of birth and an expiration date. For a complete list of acceptable documents and more details, visit the “Acceptable IDs” page on the TSA website at: http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/acceptable-ids. The TSA does not require children under 18 to provide identification when traveling with a companion within the United States.

The TSA does not consider paper temporary IDs a valid form of identification. However, should you only have a temporary ID, we encourage you to also bring two other forms of ID (such as social security cards, birth certificates, marriage licenses or credit cards) with your name on it. The TSA can use these items to help verify your identity through a separate screening process. You will want to give yourself additional time to complete this process. If your identity cannot be verified, you will not be allowed to enter the screening checkpoint.

In the event you lost or misplaced your identification, you may still be able to fly. By providing additional information, the TSA has other ways to confirm your identity, like using publicly available databases, so you can reach your flight. You will want to give yourself additional time to complete this process. If your identity cannot be verified, you will not be allowed to enter the screening checkpoint.

Luggage FAQs

Passengers are allowed to bring one quart-sized bag of liquids, gels, aerosols, creams and pastes in carry-on bags through the checkpoint. These are limited to travel-sized containers that are 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item. The TSA makes exceptions for medications and liquid needs for infants and children.
